Lizzie is part qualified as a patent attorney. Lizzie qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Edinburgh in 2010, before being awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Integrated Training Fellowship for Veterinarians. During her Fellowship, Lizzie studied for her PhD at the Babraham Institute at the same time as gaining clinical experience as a small animal veterinarian. Lizzie's PhD focussed on mechanisms of immune tolerance, specifically PI 3-kinase signalling in the development and function of regulatory T cells. Her work examined the immune responses of conditional knock-out mice subjected to in vivo models of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
Lizzie has a broad academic background encompassing physiology, pathology, pharmacology, medicine, surgery, agriculture and epidemiology, as well as immunology and molecular biology. She now works on cases covering a range of subject matter, although she maintains a particular interest in T cell biology. Lizzie also enjoys working on cases in the fields of stem cell therapeutics, sequencing technologies, vaccines and antibodies.
Lizzie joined J A Kemp in 2013.
