Our Environmental Policy

At J A Kemp we are committed individually and collectively to doing our part in caring for the environment. We monitor carefully and comply with fully all regulatory requirements relevant to our business, but we go further than that. We are continually assessing our operations with the aim of conducting our business in an environmentally friendly way.  We are a leading firm in the provision of patent and trade mark services to the Cleantech sector and a founder member of the London Cleantech Cluster, holding a quarterly Green IP special interest group event open to all cleantech businesses.

As a prominent player in the sector, we believe in leading by example. We are committed in particular to helping to address the global problem of climate change by minimising our carbon consumption. We hold the Silver Certificate from Carbon Smart for our continuing programme of activities to manage and reduce as far as possible our impact on the environment.

J A Kemp participates in a carbon offsetting programme with ClimateCare, a UK-based company whose focus is on projects that cut carbon consumption and fund social development. Since 2014 the firm has been committed to offsetting all business flights.  The firm’s financial contribution supports the Uga-stoves project, which provides efficient cooking stoves to those in need.  The firm also provides financial support to the LifeStraw Carbon for Water project, which delivers clean water filters to communities in Kenya. The provision of these filters (pictured below) cuts carbon emissions by reducing the need to boil water.
