Andrew is a solicitor and patent attorney. His background in chemistry and biochemistry supports his expertise in the specialist field of Supplementary Protection Certificates. Andrew joined J A Kemp in 1991 and became a partner in 1995. During this time he supervised the firm's Registrable Transactions work and advised on inventorship and ownership issues.
Andrew first qualified and practised as a solicitor with a major London firm, specialising in contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters. His litigation experience has been applied in contentious matters in a wide range of mechanical, chemical and biotechnical matters, whether before the European Patent Office (at all levels up to the Enlarged Board), the UK Intellectual Property Office and Courts or overseas, and in providing freedom to operate, validity and infringement opinions.
Andrew became a consultant in 2020.
