Emma obtained a BA in Biological Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. She specialised in Genetics in her final year and was awarded the J M Thoday Prize for achieving the highest mark in Genetics examinations.
She then did a PhD in Plant Genetics at the University of Cambridge, where she subsequently completed a short post-doctoral research position. Her PhD and post-doctoral research focused on the control of meiotic recombination in plant genomes and resulted in a first author paper in a peer-reviewed journal.
Emma joined J A Kemp as a trainee patent attorney in 2019.
