On 31 January 2020 the UK left the EU with a transition period maintaining the status quo agreed until 31 December 2020. Since no extension to the transition period was requested by the UK Government by the 30 June deadline for doing so, we are now on track for a 31 December exit day. The UK and EU are still engaged in negotiations on their new relationship and it remains to be seen whether anything in this regard will be accomplished between now and the end of the year. Regardless of whether or not a deal is agreed, the position for Trade Marks and Designs will remain largely as set out in the previously negotiated Withdrawal Agreement. Many businesses have spent the last few months solely focussed on Covid-19 and its impact on the world economy and the previous dramas of Brexit have been all but forgotten. With less than 6 months to go now until exit day, this webinar will provide an opportunity to review how Brexit will affect Trade Marks and Designs from 1 January 2021 and portfolio management steps to be considered in the lead up to this date.
