J A Kemp is pleased to announce the promotion of two associates to the position of partner.
Joe Simon-Brown is a member of the firm’s Engineering and IT Group and started his career in London before joining the Cambridge team in 2018 to help service the firm’s client base there. Joe is passionate about supporting growing businesses and is involved with various programmes within the start-up ecosystem in Cambridge. With a technical background in physics, he covers a wide range of technical areas including software, scientific instruments, medical devices, and aerospace. Joe also frequently works on cases with an element of cross-over with the life sciences. His clients include start-ups, spin-outs, technology transfer organisations, and large multi-nationals.
Guy Brain joined J A Kemp’s Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals Group in 2011. Based in the London office, he works across the full scope of the chemical sciences, handling subject matter ranging from semiconductor devices to formulations for respiratory medicine. A significant part of Guy’s work relates to technology transfer and he is used to working closely with academics. Guy also has been involved in due diligence matters, consolidation of ownership for patent estates and freedom to operate and validity analyses.
