Ben Murphy
Ben is an Associate in J A Kemp’s Trade Marks and Designs Group and has over four years’ experience in the field, having qualified in 2022. He qualified as a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in 2022, and became an associate in 2024.
In particular, Ben specialises in trade mark enforcement and online brand protection. He has experience of working on contentious matters before the UK and EU IPO, and the Company Names Tribunal, as well as coordinating disputes in other jurisdictions. Ben is also experienced in handling domain name complaints to Nominet and WIPO, and a range of online take-down and infringement complaints with a number of different platforms. Ben also regularly deals with trade mark clearance and prosecution work, and also deals with Customs Applications for Action, including at HMRC.
Ben has experience of working with a range of clients, including those in the automotive, research, food and drink, fashion and charitable sectors.
Ben joined J A Kemp as a trainee trade mark attorney in 2020, having previously been a trainee at another intellectual property firm. Prior to joining the profession, Ben previously worked as an analyst in a brand strategy agency and in a marketing firm.
