Sam Parry

Trainee Patent Attorney

Sam is a trainee patent attorney based in the firm's London office.

In the course of his training, Sam has gained experience across a large range of subject matter, particularly specialising in gene therapies, antibodies and immunology.

Sam studied at the University of Oxford for a Master’s Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, which included a wide range of fields including genetics, cell biology, metabolism, structure and function of macromolecules and DNA/RNA biology. During this time, he received the Dr Maurice Carstairs Jones-Mortimer Prize awarded to a biochemist of ‘outstanding academic merit’. He completed a summer research programme at Imperial College London studying interactions between DNA binding proteins FIGNL1 and Rad51. His final year research project at the University of Oxford focused on detecting the loading of cohesin onto DNA using an in vitro assay.

Sam first joined J A Kemp in 2020 and returned in 2024 after a period at another leading IP firm.
