London Cleantech Cluster Special Interest Group on Protecting Your IP when Crowdfunding
On 11 November 2015 J A Kemp is hosting the eighth London Cleantech Cluster IP Special Interest Group on 'Protecting Your IP when Crowdfunding'.
Crowdfunding, unlike some other forms of raising finance, involves dealing with the general public and so any statements made during the funding process will be made openly in the public domain. This has implications for IP, both from a business integrity perspective and from an IP protection viewpoint. Does IP strengthen your proposal? What can you disclose without undermining any future IP? Do potential investors need to know how your innovation works?
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about their own IP situation, as well as learn about the fundamental concepts involved in protecting their intellectual property in the clean technology context. There will also be a case study on Den Automation, a cleantech client of J A Kemp’s which has completed two successful rounds of funding on Seedrs after protecting its intellectual property rights. There will also be refreshments and plenty of time for networking. This event is open to all cleantech businesses and is free to attend.
