Commenting on the move, partner Andy Bentham, who will head up the new office, said:
We have seen a significant increase in patent activity from the UK in the last few years. Much of this stems from the entrepreneurial scientific communities in Oxford and Cambridge. In Cambridge growth is faster now than at any time in the 25 years since I first came here as an undergraduate.
We are looking forward to joining the Cambridge cluster of hi-tech, biomedical, agri-tech and other innovators. With 150 people based in our main office in London and over 20 based in Oxford, opening an office in Cambridge too means we can offer services from all three points of the so-called golden triangle '.
