Clive So

Clive is a European and UK Patent Attorney. He handles the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in fields related to engineering and IT, with particular experience in mass spectrometry, microlithography, human interface hardware (HMI), optical devices, electromechanical devices, computer software, medical devices and mechanical engineering. He is experienced in drafting applications and prosecuting applications at the European Patent Office and the UK Intellectual Property Office, as well as managing patent families including large selections of countries worldwide.

Clive gained his engineering Chartership from his former occupation in the nuclear power industry. Clive’s university studies in engineering covered a wide range of engineering disciplines, in particular thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. Clive also has practical experience in 3D printing, computer programming and digital electronics.

Clive is based in our London office. In addition to English, he is fluent in French (DALF C1) as well as written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Clive joined J A Kemp in 2016 and became an associate in 2021.
