During her undergraduate studies she also completed a summer research project on phage therapy at Leicester University in the Department of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation.
Pip then did a PhD at the University of Sheffield, where she established the developing zebrafish respiratory vasculature as a molecular model for human respiratory vascular diseases. Her work provided her with practical experience of techniques such as CRISPR, fluorescent microscopy and computational processing and analysis.
