UNION-IP Spring Dinner Meeting

Our new litigation partner, John Hornby will be attending this event, where Tilman Müller-Stoy, renowned patent litigator at Bardehle Pagenberg, will recount his Experiences before the UPC – first impressions.

Tilman has been at the coalface from day one, having obtained the very first inter-partes preliminary injunction based on the very first unitary patent and is perfectly placed to talk through some of the practical and legal aspects that are beginning to surface.

The UPC was always an unknown quantity but early evidence is that users have taken it up and that it is starting to deliver and Tilman will discuss some of the cases he’s been involved in, and some of the practicalities we need to understand – we know that there are many, many issues still waiting to be settled.

Despite Brexit, the UK remains a massively influential European jurisdiction for IP litigation, and with one of the largest populations of UPC-qualified attorneys and a hugely influential advisory capacity, our contribution to the UPC is key, and lessons from experts like Professor Müller-Stoy will be incredibly important in delivering the best service.
