Thomas joined J A Kemp as a trainee patent attorney in 2019 and is based in the firm’s London office.
Thomas studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, specialising in organic, medicinal and biological chemistry, during which he achieved a college scholarship and a Horne Prize for Physical Sciences. His masters project focussed on the synthesis of new antibiotics using fragment-based drug discovery. Thomas spent a summer placement working in process chemistry at GlaxoSmithKline where he was involved in the manufacture scale-up of a drug in clinical trials.
