Dan Olatokun
Dan joined J A Kemp in 2024 from another leading patent firm as a Trainee Patent Attorney and is based in the firm’s London office.
Dan graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2021 with a first-class BSc in Biology and went on to achieve a distinction at Master’s level in Plant Biology Research at Sheffield the following year. As a Master’s student, Dan applied advanced histological techniques to characterise physiological changes in potato sprouts in response to the application of a promising commercial sprouting suppressant. For his academic achievements, Dan received several scholarships including the Robert Pulford Scholarship, the Sheffield Study Abroad Scholarship, the Sheffield Postgraduate Scholarship, and the National Farmers’ Union Centenary Award.
During his time at university, which included one year studying at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, Dan developed specialist knowledge on a broad range of topics across the life sciences including molecular biology, plant biotechnology, sustainable agriculture, genome editing, bioinformatics, recombinant protein production, molecular cloning, and genomics.
